'Serve, Learn, and Volunteer' Starting in January!Beginning in 2010, every third Saturday of the month Street GRACE will be starting our Serve, Learn and Volunteer Opportunities. We will be highlighting a specific non-profit who will host a serving opportunity at their location. This will allow potential volunteers to meet the leadership and current volunteers of the non-profit actually doing the hands-on work and see if this would be a match for you.
Come get a feel for the environment, ask questions, and find out first hand what the commitment would be. It also will give us as a group the opportunity to bless the non-profit by helping with a few projects around their facility. |
In Focus: At-Risk ChildrenWant to make a real, visible difference in the life of an at-risk child? Join Street GRACE on Saturday, January 16 for the first Serve, Learn and Volunteer opportunity, as they partner with the Atlanta Dream Center’s Metro Kidz for a day of inner-city outreach. Volunteers will gather at 412 Linden Avenue, NE, Atlanta, GA 30308, at 10 a.m. before heading to the nearby housing projects to serve the children and families in these dejected neighborhoods.
Those involved will go door-to-door to visit with the parents. Next, each person will pair with a child and accompany them to the Atlanta International Church for a time of games and snacks. The event will end around 1:30pm. For more information on the Atlanta Dream Center, visit www.atldreamcenter.org
Don’t miss this opportunity to share the love of Jesus and create smiles and lasting memories with an inner-city child. Please RSVP if you plan to attend.

Join Us for a Citywide Interactive Prayer InstallationWith our hearts and minds focused on the upcoming Lobby Day at the Georgia State Capitol, we invite you to participate in the concert of voices rising from Street GRACE’s first quarterly Prayer Event, which will be held on January 28 from 12-8pm. The location is to be determined and will be posted on our Events Calendar
The event will be held in one of the city's "hot zones," South West Atlanta, where you will pray with folks from all over the Metro area who have come together to lend their spiritual support. We will have opportunities to pray using your whole body, your imagination, as well as ancient and traditional prayers. Interact with Bible passages, multimedia, various prayer stations, hands on art activities, and places for quiet contemplation while informing ourselves about the problem of the commercial sexual exploitation of children in Atlanta and the abolitionist efforts underway. The event is a "drop in," but come with friends and plan on joining us for a good hour to fully engage with the issue through the various mediums. |
Be 1 of 1,000 People at the Georgia State Capitol Join Street GRACE and their partners, A Future. Not A Past. and Wellspring Living, as they come together and talk with Georgia Legislators about the upcoming bills that impact the victims of commercial sexual exploitation. Everyone can make a difference and we want YOU to help us speak with one voice and ask our legislators to pass stronger laws to fight the commercial sexual exploitation of children (CSEC) and to protect the CSEC system of care funding for victims. Registration is required. Click here for more details.
Attend our next Monthly Meeting on Thursday, January 7th from 2-3pm at North Avenue Presbyterian Church for Lobby Day Training!
We sincerely appreciate your partnership in eradicating the commercial sexual exploitation of children in our community. To learn more, please visit our website, www.StreetGRACE.org.
