Anti-Sex Trafficking Lobby Day 2017
Join together with Georgia's anti-sex trafficking organizations on Tuesday, February 28th and make your voice heard in the fight to end Sex Trafficking! Lobby Day is an opportunity to stand with other community members, advocates, and elected officials to show support for legislation protecting children and adults from sex trafficking and sexual exploitation, as well as a time to thank our legislators for their hard work and commitment toward the issue.
This year's Lobby Day will advocate for a comprehensive bill that accomplishes the following:
- Minimum time in jail for offenders
- No early parole for offenders
- Provisions that add perpetrators the sex offender registry
- Renew the law that mandates the posting of the national human trafficking hotline in places victims are likely to be (bus stations, strip clubs, hotels, etc.) and include the Georgia Cares hotline
If you are looking to get involved in the anti-sex trafficking movement, have questions about this year's legislative agenda, and desire to advocate and stand up for victims, this is the right opportunity for you!
Lobby Day will be followed by a luncheon hosted by the Lobby Day Partner Organizations.
ATTENTION: Lobby Day 2017 organizers will provide information regarding all participants' state legislators based on the address you provide during registration. This information will appear on the back of your name badge when you arrive. We will not be able to provide this information for participants who register after February 21, 2017.
DMST Lobby Day is not possible without the support of individuals and organizations across the state who believe that children are priceless. Support this DMST Lobby Day and help give a voice to the voiceless. If you are interested in sponsoring Lobby Day 2017, please click below.
