Serve, Learn & Volunteer

On the third Saturday of every month, Street GRACE offers Serve, Learn & Volunteer opportunities, which are a great way for you and your friends to volunteer for various non-profits around the city. Each month, Street GRACE highlights a specific non-profit that hosts a serving opportunity at their location. This will allow you to meet the leadership and current non-profit volunteers doing the hands-on work and to see if this would be a good match for you. Come get a feel for the environment, ask questions, and find out first hand what the commitment would be to continue volunteering. As a group, it will also give us the opportunity to bless the non-profit by helping with a few projects around their facility.
Please join Street GRACE on Saturday, February 20th from 12:00 - 4:00pm for our 2nd Serve, Learn and Volunteer Day as we partner with Bright Futures Atlanta! Bright Futures Atlanta (BFATL) is a Christian-based, year-round program offering after-school programming during the school year and camp during the summers as well as Christmas and Spring Breaks. BFATL's mission is to provide programs and activities that are aimed at creating social change in inner-city adolescents. They accomplish this through discipleship, using Christian based character building techniques, and staying involved with the families and community. BFATL’s home/campus is located in a residential neighborhood just west of downtown Atlanta. While staff, student participants and consistent volunteers work hard to keep the buildings and grounds in great shape it is imperative that groups with servant hearts visit monthly to assist in grounds maintenance/renovation, building maintenance and other projects. RSVP is required. We can only accommodate 50 volunteers. All volunteers must be 16 and older.
The schedule for the day will be as follows:
12:00-12:30 Orientation
12:30-2:00 Outdoor work project/grounds maintenance
2:00-3:00 Pizza lunch
3:00-4:00 Spend time with kids
