Advocacy and Awareness

By providing a “common voice” and serving as a provocateur in the local community, Street GRACE is uniquely able to resource, equip, enable, and champion others to the cause. Through local government lobbying efforts, community-wide campaigns, and strategic utilization of our network of informed and impassioned churches our desire is to see hundreds of thousands of men, women, and children moved towards action.

In 2010, we will launch a PR and communication campaign designed to bring attention to the problem and prevalence of child sexual exploitation through initiating community-wide efforts, targeting key influencers, and leveraging mass media.

Our goal is to strengthen legislation around the commercial sexual exploitation of children and to raise awareness of this issue among 100,000 people in metro-Atlanta.

Help us raise awareness in your community! For more information, please contact advocacy@streetgrace.org.

 Legislative Updates:

What does the SB 304 substitute language do? It does not open the prostitution criminal code section. Rather, it defines an alternative way to connect child victims of commercial sexual exploitation with much-needed restorative services through juvenile court, and recognizes the child's status as a victim of sexual exploitation. This new language will ensure child victims are admitted into the statewide system of care, while preserving the child's eligibility for victim compensation funds.
